Maria Laura Galviati

Art, Archeology, History, Restoration

The research project of doctoral student Maria Laura Galviati explores the intersection of Art History and Western philosophical thought, with specific focus on the study of the body and its representation from the Early Modern Age onwards. The concept of corporeality is approached from a historical perspective, aiming to trace its development and transformations up to the present times. The goal is to investigate the reciprocal influences between these two disciplines, which, through either accidental or deliberate intersections between thought and the creative process, give rise to a distinct interpretation of the human body.
